Viewers of Big Brother Naija Season 10 were left surprised on Friday evening when the popular reality TV show’s live broadcast was suddenly interrupted due to an unexpected power outage.

In an official notice posted on its Facebook page, MultiChoice Nigeria and the show’s organisers confirmed the break in transmission, stressing that there was no cause for alarm.

“We’re currently experiencing a temporary break in Big Brother Naija transmission due to a power issue. Rest assured, the housemates are safe and sound,” the organisers wrote.

They further assured fans that work was already underway to restore the live feed and encouraged viewers to stay tuned.

“Our technical team is working swiftly to restore power and normal service. Thank you for your patience. Grab a snack, stretch your legs. We’ll be back serving premium entertainment shortly!” the notice added.

The short outage quickly trended on social media, with fans flooding X (formerly Twitter) with memes and comments, some expressing relief at the assurance that housemates were safe, while others joked about the brief pause in the drama.

Season 10 of Big Brother Naija has kept audiences glued to their screens since its opening ceremony, with evictions, alliances, and conflicts driving conversation across Nigeria and beyond. The show continues to dominate primetime viewership, attracting millions of daily viewers across Africa.
