Nottingham Forest Sack Postecoglou After Eight-Game Winless Streak

Okay News reports that Nottingham Forest have dismissed their head coach, Ange Postecoglou, following an eight-match run without a victory in all competitions.

The decision came shortly after the team’s disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, which intensified pressure on the Greek-born coach.

In a brief statement posted on X, the club confirmed his immediate departure, saying:

“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The Club will make no further comment at this time.”

Postecoglou’s short stint at the City Ground failed to yield a single win, with six losses recorded during his tenure. The club also suffered a painful Carabao Cup exit against Swansea City after conceding two late goals to lose 3-2, despite leading 2-1 in stoppage time.

Forest’s only moments of relief came from hard-fought draws against Burnley in the Premier League and Real Betis in the Europa League.

Postecoglou, who previously managed Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur, joined Forest with high expectations, but the team’s struggles in front of goal and defensive lapses proved costly.

As of Saturday, Nottingham Forest sit near the bottom half of the Premier League table, leaving the management under growing pressure from fans and pundits.

The club is expected to announce an interim coach soon, as they prepare for their next league fixture.
