Okay News reports that newly-promoted Sunderland delivered one of the biggest upsets of the Premier League season with a dramatic 2–1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Black Cats snatched the win in stoppage time through Chemsdine Talbi, whose late strike silenced the home crowd and sealed Sunderland’s first league victory over Chelsea in nine years.

It also marked Sunderland’s first triumph at Stamford Bridge in over a decade, ending a 14-year winless run that stretched back to April 19, 2014, when goals from Connor Wickham and Fabio Borini secured a 2–1 victory over the Blues.

The latest result came as a stunning reminder of the Premier League’s unpredictability, with Sunderland — freshly returned to the top flight — outplaying a Chelsea side still struggling to find consistency under pressure.

According to reports, Sunderland’s first goal came from Wilson Isidor, who converted a brilliant counterattack to give the visitors the lead. Chelsea managed to draw level, but Talbi’s composed finish deep into stoppage time ensured all three points for the visitors.

The unexpected win sent shockwaves through the Premier League, propelling Sunderland to second place on the table, just two points behind leaders Arsenal.

Fans flooded social media to celebrate the historic victory, hailing the team’s resilience and tactical discipline. Football analysts have described the result as a morale-boosting performance for the newly-promoted side and a warning sign for Chelsea’s ambitions this season.

More updates are expected as Sunderland’s manager and players react to their stunning triumph at Stamford Bridge.
