Nigerian youths under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Structure for Asiwaju have pledged to deliver at least six million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The group made the promise during a briefing at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, where its convener, Michael Nwoko, said their plan would ensure strong youth mobilisation across the country.

Nwoko explained that the organisation operates on zonal, state, and local government structures aimed at engaging young Nigerians constructively and ensuring their participation in the political process. “All we need to do is to have a data-driven process about the Nigerian youths who have attained voting age and bring them into the pool,” he said.

He stated that the group’s target was to mobilise at least ten million youths into its database within months, with six million of them committed to voting for the President. “Our overall objective, which is clearly spelt out, is to mobilise six million votes for Mr President come 2027. We want to ensure that our party’s candidates win the elections with a wide margin,” he added.

The convener said the group would also work to neutralise the influence of the Obidient Movement, which gained traction during the 2023 elections. “Dislodging the Obidients’ Movement will not be a problem at all. They are not a big threat,” Nwoko said. “What happened in the 2023 presidential election will not happen again.”

He further noted that the President had implemented measures to strengthen youth inclusion in governance, including the appointment of young people as ministers and officials at various levels. “It has started with the sense of belonging given to the youths as Ministers. It has also cascaded to the zones, states, and local governments,” he said.

Nwoko concluded that these strategies would give young Nigerians greater participation and help the ruling party consolidate its support base before the 2027 polls.
