Google co-founder Sergey Brin has climbed to the No. 3 position on the global rich list, his net worth hitting $248.4 billion after a sharp rise on Tuesday, according to the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List. His ascent pushes Oracle founder Larry Ellison down a spot, completing a rapid reshuffling among the world’s wealthiest.

Elon Musk remains the world’s richest individual, but Alphabet’s strong market run has propelled Larry Page to second place and Brin to third — both reaching new personal wealth records within just two days.

Brin’s fortune jumped $6.4 billion in a single day, buoyed by investor confidence in Alphabet, the parent company of Google. Since Monday, Page and Brin collectively added $18.3 billion and $16.9 billion to their net worths as the company’s shares extended an impressive rally.

Though Brin stepped down from his executive role years ago, he continues to hold a substantial stake in Alphabet, which remains the backbone of Google’s global dominance in search, AI, and cloud technologies.

Alphabet appeared poised to smash past a historic market milestone on Tuesday. Premarket trading saw the company’s stock rising 4.1% to $331.7, setting it on track to breach a $4 trillion market valuation at the opening bell.

After markets opened, Alphabet shares continued upward, climbing 2.6% to $327, reflecting strong investor sentiment amid the tech giant’s accelerated push into artificial intelligence.

Born in Moscow and raised in the United States, Brin co-founded Google with Larry Page in 1998 while the two were PhD students at Stanford University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park. Today, Brin remains a key figure in Silicon Valley through his investments and continued involvement in Alphabet’s long-term vision.
