A Nigerian actress, Doris Ogala, has reportedly been taken into police custody following an incident that unfolded in real time during a social media livestream on Saturday, December 20, 2025. The development has intensified public attention around an ongoing personal dispute involving the actress and a Lagos-based cleric.
The incident reportedly occurred while Doris Ogala, a Nollywood actress known within Nigeria’s entertainment industry, was participating in an online livestream conversation with an internet personality. During the live broadcast, the interviewer suddenly asked her, “The police are in your house?” In response, Ogala confirmed the situation, stating, “Yes, the police are in my house.”
As the livestream continued, Ogala was heard addressing a person identified as “Charity,” reprimanding her for allowing individuals into her residence despite earlier warnings. The interviewer further questioned whether the police officers present had a warrant and advised Ogala to keep her phone connected as events unfolded.
Okay News reports that the livestream quickly circulated across social media platforms, drawing widespread reactions and speculation from viewers who witnessed the unfolding situation in real time.
Shortly after the broadcast, Nigerian comedian and social commentator, Dee One, who is also a former housemate on Big Brother Naija, a widely watched reality television show in Nigeria, took to his Instagram account to comment on the development. In his post, he wrote, “Doris Ogala has just been arrested. I tried to warn her; the allegations did not add up. Now she will have to defend her story in court. Everywhere good, my people.”
Attempts to obtain a direct response from Doris Ogala were unsuccessful. Calls placed to her telephone line did not connect, and messages sent through the WhatsApp messaging application had not received a response as of the time this report was filed.
Efforts to reach Dee One for further clarification on his claims also proved unsuccessful, as repeated calls were unanswered and a follow-up message sent to him remained unreplied.
In a related development, a message sent to a telephone line linked to the church of Lagos-based cleric, Dr Chris Okafor, received a response denying the allegations circulating online. The message, saved under the name “Dr Chris Okafor” on WhatsApp, read, “Kindly debunk any rumour you are seeing on the internet; it is a false allegation. Thanks.”
Earlier, on Friday, December 19, 2025, Ogala had shared a post on social media that was later deleted. The post allegedly showed a man identified as Okafor in what she described as a private setting. In the accompanying caption, she accused him of dishonesty and claimed she possessed video evidence to substantiate her allegations.
The controversy follows the cleric’s recent wedding ceremony to a woman identified as Pearl, which reportedly took place earlier in the same week. The wedding reportedly proceeded despite Ogala’s public accusations of betrayal, emotional manipulation, and the failure to fulfill a promise of marriage after what she described as a long-term relationship.
In multiple videos shared over several days, Ogala emotionally alleged that her relationship with Okafor began around 2017 and lasted for several years. She claimed that she ended her previous marriage at his urging and later experienced emotional distress after the relationship ended abruptly.
As of the time of reporting, there has been no official statement from the Nigeria Police Force confirming the arrest or outlining any formal charges related to the incident.
