President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, paid a courtesy visit to renowned Nigerian businessman and elder statesman, Chief Kessington Adebutu, at his private residence in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial and economic capital, on Thursday, December 25, 2025.

The Christmas Day visit was made public through a social media update by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President of Nigeria on Information and Strategy, who shared photographs from the visit on his verified account on X, formerly known as Twitter. The images showed the President, the First Lady, and the respected industrialist in a relaxed and cordial atmosphere.

Okay News reports that the visit reflects a long-standing relationship between the Tinubu family and Chief Adebutu, a figure widely acknowledged for his extensive contributions to Nigeria’s private sector growth, philanthropy, and national development over several decades.

Chief Kessington Adebutu, often described as one of Nigeria’s foremost industrialists, rose from modest beginnings to establish himself as a major force in the country’s business landscape. His influence spans multiple sectors, and he is also noted for his quiet but impactful philanthropic activities, which have supported education, community development, and social welfare initiatives across Nigeria.

The visit comes just months after Chief Adebutu celebrated his 90th birthday in Lagos, an event that attracted an array of prominent figures, including senior political leaders, captains of industry, and respected members of Nigeria’s social and economic elite. The celebration featured prayers, tributes, and goodwill messages that highlighted his resilience, entrepreneurial journey, and service to the nation.

During that milestone celebration, speakers recounted Adebutu’s evolution into a symbol of perseverance and success, praising his commitment to ethical business practices and nation-building. Family members, friends, and associates also used the occasion to emphasize his enduring legacy and personal values.

Observers view the Christmas Day visit by President Tinubu and the First Lady as a symbolic gesture of respect and recognition, underscoring the administration’s acknowledgment of individuals who have played significant roles in shaping Nigeria’s economic and social fabric.

The photographs released from the visit showed President Tinubu and Senator Oluremi Tinubu seated alongside Chief Adebutu, reinforcing the warmth of the interaction and the mutual regard shared among the parties.
