Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a 3–1 victory over Uganda on Tuesday evening to end the AFCON 2025 group stage with three wins from three matches, finishing top of Group C and cruising into the round of 16.
Okay News reports that goals from Paul Onuachu and a second-half brace by Raphael Onyedika sealed the win at the Fez Stadium in Morocco. Uganda briefly pulled one back through Rogers Mato, but the damage had already been done, especially after the East Africans were reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of goalkeeper Salim Magoola.
With the result, Nigeria finish Group C on nine points, while Tunisia qualify as runners-up with four points. Tanzania, who placed third with two points, also advanced as one of the best four third-placed teams, while Uganda were eliminated from the tournament.
