Law enforcement agencies in Ghana have taken into custody 30-year-old Evans Eshun, a self-proclaimed pastor known as Ebo Noah, following a series of alarmist predictions regarding a global apocalypse.
The suspect gained notoriety for claiming that a catastrophic flood would destroy the earth on December 25, 2025, an assertion that triggered significant public anxiety across the region.
Okay News reports that the Special Cyber Vetting Team of the Ghana Police Service apprehended Eshun after his claims of constructing a modern-day “Noah’s Ark” were found to be deceptive.
Investigations revealed that the vessels featured in his viral videos did not belong to him, leading to accusations of fraud and the intentional spreading of misinformation to create panic.
Prior to his arrest, the suspect attempted to revise his narrative by claiming that his personal fasting and spiritual intercession had persuaded God to postpone the impending destruction. Despite these claims, the authorities maintained that such alarmist prophecies violate national regulations aimed at preventing social unrest. Eshun remains in police custody while the state continues its crackdown on individuals using digital platforms to disseminate false religious warnings.
