Real Madrid have disclosed that they will will appeal their recent FIFA ban that will hinder them from registering new players for the next two transfer windows, saying they haven’t done nothing wrong.

Barely one month after the completion of Barcelona’s similar punishment, the world football governing body, Fifa sanctioned both Los Blancos and city rivals Atletico, for irregularities regarding the transfer of players under the age of 18, which Real stated they didn’t breach.

Atletico have also confirmed that they will appeal the ban, though both teams are free to continue signing players in the current January window.

“Consequently, Real Madrid will appeal this decision by Fifa to all sporting bodies, considering it absolutely unacceptable,” concluded Madrid’s lengthy statement released on Thursday afternoon.

The club’s general manager, Jose Angel Sanchez, and director of legal services, Javier Lopez Farre, will hold a press conference at 18:30 GMT while Atletico have also revealed their plan to appeal the sanctions.

This comes as the latest blow for Madrid in a rollercoaster season after they were kicked out of the Copa del Rey after selecting an inelgible player and sacked manager Rafa Benitez after just five months in charge.
