Three times she’s been diagnosed of cancer. And three times she’s successfully dealt with it.

But it seems cancer is bent on taking her life.

In the latest twist, “my cancer has metasized to the bone and skull wall which is now affecting the lungs to function well”, she wrote on a fundraising platform she just recently set up.

Deborah Osarere Idiagbonya is not a stranger to cancer. She was first diagnosed of breast cancer in 2011. And Nigerians rallied to help her raise N6m for the breast cancer surgery that helped curtailed that. But by 2013 when the treatment for breast cancer had been concluded, the disease had spread to her pelvic and spinal cord.

By June 2014, she was diagnosed with cancer of the liver. And she went to battle again. She almost won, but then “My oncologist said ‘I’m happy your chemotherapy is working for your liver but sorry the cancer came back to your bones’,” she said in a recent interview.

She was battling with the cancer in her bones at the time of that interview. And she was very optimistic.

“I have been fighting since Dec, 12 2011. God will never leave me. I have survived breast cancer stage IV, I’m surviving liver cancer so how much bones? I’ve survived it before and I will survive it again. I will never lose my fighting spirit,” she said.

But the worst was yet to come.

Now the cancer has gotten to her skull wall causing her left eye and her lungs to malfunction.

As if those were not enough woes, her insurance company has been dilly-dallying about picking up her bills.

I decided to use this medium to raise funds for my treatments because the insurance stopped paying for some of my major treatments and doctor’s visitation and the organisations (African Women Cancer Awareness Association, ZURI WORKS, Courage to Dare) that have also been helping me can not afford to pay all the bills.

The money will be used to continue my treatments and major surgeries, I need the funds as soon as possible to enable me continue with my treatments. if people can help me raise this money they will help keep me alive as I would be eternally grateful to them like i have been to all the Nigerians that donated towards my treatment in 2012, because they were used by God to keep me alive till this moment when my doctors at the time said i had only a month to live. Please help keep me alive by donating to my treatment and don’t forget to continually put me in your prayers because that is a major key to the cause of my healing.

If you’d like to donate, please head here.

And do not forget to say a prayer for her.
