Nigeria senior women national team, the Super Falcons were given a paltry N10,000 ($50) each for qualifying for the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations on Tuesday.

The Falcons qualified on a 3-1 aggregate score after downing the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal 2-0 in the second leg, final round at the National Stadium, Abuja, following a 1-1 first-leg score in Dakar.

The turn of events is even more shocking in light of the $4000 for a draw and $5000 for a win dished out to their male counterparts, the Super Eagles, who failed yet again to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

The N10,000 allowance was handed out after the team decamped Tuesday evening with the fate of the nine foreign-based players who participated in the qualifying series hanging.

However, an NFF source revealed that the team was already aware of the financial constraints bedeviling the Glass House at the moment, in addition to the raging leadership tussle.

The Florence Omagbemi-led girls will join hosts Cameroon, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, South Africa, Cote d’Ivoire and Zimbabwe in the finals for the 10th edition of the continental showpiece.

NFF officials are yet to react to the development as they’re currently in an extraordinary congress in Abuja to resolve the crisis at the Federation.
