ADC Welcomes Kwankwaso, Says His Defection Signals Push for ‘Real Change’

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

ABUJA, NIGERIA – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially welcomed former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso into its ranks, describing his defection as a major boost to the party’s growing coalition ahead of future elections, Okay News reports.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said Kwankwaso’s decision reflects the sentiments of many Nigerians who are seeking leadership that understands everyday challenges and is prepared to address them. The ADC highlighted his governance experience, grassroots appeal, and ability to unify diverse groups as key strengths he brings to the party.

The party further disclosed that Kwankwaso has encouraged members of his political movement and supporters nationwide to join the ADC, a move it says will strengthen its position as a credible alternative platform. The development is seen as part of ongoing political realignments shaping Nigeria’s opposition landscape.
