The Super Eagles have to Nigeria after finishing third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

Okay.ng understands that the team were received by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

On their arrival at the airport, Ahmed Musa spoke on behalf of the team saying “We are grateful for all the support but we are sorry we could not come back with the title; that is football for you but we tried our best.”

The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the final at AFCON 2019 after they were beaten 2-1 by Algeria in their semi-final match.
