Angered Fans Get Rarara’s Facebook Page Deleted Over Pro-Tinubu Song

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Facebook has deleted the account of popular Hausa singer Dauda Adamu, also known as Rarara, after he faced widespread criticism for his song praising President Bola Tinubu amidst Nigeria’s economic hardship. The account, which had over 1 million followers, was removed on Saturday.

Rarara’s song claimed that Tinubu had made Nigeria great and that Northerners had bid farewell to hunger, insecurity, and poverty. However, this statement sparked outrage among Nigerians, who reported his account en masse.

The singer’s account could not be found on Sunday afternoon, and users on other social media platforms have called for his accounts to be deleted as well. Rarara has been a vocal supporter of President Tinubu and was previously appointed National Director of Music for the Buhari 2019 Presidential Support Committee.

This incident comes as Nigerians prepare for a nationwide protest against the current economic hardship in the country. Rarara’s mother was recently kidnapped by bandits and released after 20 days in captivity.
