Anything to Get at the KING – Burna Boy Slams Brymo

By Damilola A.

Afrobeat sensation Burna Boy has fired back at fellow musician Brymo after the latter took a jab at him during a recent interview.

The rift between the two artists escalated when Brymo accused Burna Boy of allegedly appropriating his unreleased song as inspiration for his own tracks, “City Boy” and “I Told You.”

Burna Boy responded to Brymo’s accusations with a live freestyle, subtly throwing shade at the singer and implying that Brymo’s career had taken a downturn.

In his interview, Brymo made it clear that he would never feature Burna Boy on any of his tracks, emphasizing his stance on not associating with the Afrobeat star.

In a retaliatory move, Burna Boy, who often refers to himself as the King, asserted that detractors were resorting to desperate measures to undermine him.

Singling out Brymo, Burna Boy mocked the singer’s style, suggesting that Brymo exclusively performs Yoruba proverb music, contrasting it with the broader appeal of artists like K1 De Ultimate and Saheed Osupa.

His statement, delivered with a hint of sarcasm, reads, “At this point, they do and say Anything to get at the KING. Werey dey sing Yoruba proverb music for us When K1 and Saheed Osupa dem still dey carry us trabaye.”
