IJEBU-ODE, Nigeria – Individuals stationed at the gates of Adeola Odutola College barred Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, a former governor of Ogun State, from entering the Ogun East Caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress on the morning of Monday, April 20, 2026, WAT (GMT+1).
Okay News reports that Daniel addressed his supporters from a campaign bus outside the venue after being denied access. Videos from the scene showed the senator speaking from a white coaster bus branded with the BAT/OGD Movement logo.
“We are here for our Ogun East APC caucus meeting, but surprisingly, we have been barred. We are told that we can’t enter,” Daniel said.
“Let it be said that whatever they do here today is null and void,” Daniel declared.
Party supporters outside the venue chanted “OGD! OGD!” while an aide to the former governor engaged the individuals stationed behind the locked gates.
The invitation notice for the emergency stakeholders meeting listed past and serving members of the National Assembly, local government chairmen, councillors, and deputy governors as expected attendees.
