Afrobeats star Burna Boy has cancelled two stops on his No Sign of Weakness United States tour, scrapping performances in Minneapolis and Chicago just days after a viral incident at one of his shows ignited widespread criticism.

Okay News reports that both concerts were listed as cancelled on Ticketmaster early Friday.

The first cancellation affects his scheduled 28 November 2025 show at The Armory in Minneapolis, which was pulled less than 24 hours before the performance. A second concert, planned for 1 December 2025 in Chicago, was cancelled shortly after. Ticketmaster now displays both dates as cancelled, with no reason provided by tour organisers or the artiste’s management.

The move comes amid mounting controversy surrounding Burna Boy’s recent performance in Colorado, where he ordered a couple seated in the front row to be escorted out of the venue after they appeared to fall asleep during his set. Footage of the moment circulated widely online, drawing mixed reactions from fans and critics across the U.S., Nigeria and beyond.

During an Instagram Live session on Wednesday, the Grammy winner defended his actions, saying he wanted “supporters who buy my tickets,” a comment that fuelled even more debate. The criticism intensified when reports emerged that the woman removed from the show had been dealing with a recent personal tragedy, prompting messages of sympathy and calls for greater sensitivity.

In the early hours of Friday, Burna Boy posted a link on his Instagram Story directing fans to the tour’s ticket page, where both the Minneapolis and Chicago dates were clearly marked as cancelled. He offered no explanation, and neither he nor his team has issued an official statement addressing the backlash.

All other dates on the No Sign of Weakness tour appear unaffected for now.
