Chike Releases New Single ‘Egwu’ Featuring Late Singer Mohbad

Nigerian singer and songwriter Chike has unveiled his latest single, ‘Egwu,’ featuring the late singer Mohbad.

Chike made the announcement on Friday through his Instagram page, expressing his excitement about sharing the new music with the world.

The track ‘Egwu’ showcases a seamless blend of melody and talent, bringing together the musical influences from the eastern and western parts of Nigeria.

In the song, Mohbad sings, “Cover face like Lagbaja/ Get fila but we no dey cap/ TikTok boys dem tap tap tap/ Pastor do shira ba ba ba/ Omo jo raba ba ba/ Feeling good paran ran/ Music no need permission to enter your spirit/ Anywhere anyhow you no say you go feel me.”

Chike complements the collaboration with his own verses, singing, “Awilo Longomba/ Egwu Chiké ato ka kwa Mohbad mi dikwa bad/ I am living like no other/ Egwu anyi ana kwa ajụ kwa ajụ/ Nya bido bawa gi ime/ I no fit talk am you go know/ Feeling good paran ran.”

Chike, who began his music journey in 2015 through Project Fame and later participated in The Voice of Nigeria in 2016, has been making waves in the music scene.

His debut studio album, ‘Boo Of The Booless,’ was released in 2020.

Mohbad, known for his social media sensation, started his music career in 2016 and was associated with Marlian Records.

Unfortunately, he passed away on September 12, 2023.
