China Demands ‘Immediate Release’ of Captured Venezuelan President Maduro

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

The Chinese government has formally called on the United States to immediate release Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife following their detention during a military strike in Caracas.

In a strongly worded statement, China’s foreign ministry condemned the operation, describing the capture as a blatant breach of international legal standards.

Okay News reports that the Chinese authorities have urged the US to prioritize the personal safety of the Venezuelan leader and his spouse. The ministry further demanded that the US government halt any further actions intended to destabilize or dismantle the administration in Venezuela.

The international community is closely monitoring the situation after the U.S. military operation led to the leader’s capture on Saturday.
