Defence Headquarters Delegation Visits Family of Slain Nigerian Major General Rabe

KATSINA, Nigeria — A delegation from the Defence Headquarters has paid condolence visits to the family of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar (retd) and the Katsina State Government following the retired senior officer’s death.

The delegation, led by the Chief of Administration (Army), Major General IM Abdullahi, conveyed the condolences of the Chief of Defence Staff, General OO Oluyede, and the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the bereaved family and the people of Katsina State during separate visits on Sunday.

Okay News reports that Major General Abdullahi described the late officer as a dedicated and patriotic soldier who served Nigeria with distinction throughout a military career spanning more than three decades. He said the retired general made significant contributions to the Nigerian Army and the country’s security architecture.

The army chief assured the family that security agencies would work to ensure those responsible for the retired general’s death are brought to justice. He also reaffirmed the military’s support for the family during the mourning period.

During the visit, the delegation presented a national flag to the family in recognition of the late officer’s service and sacrifice to the nation. Responding on behalf of the family, Alhaji Dikko Mu’azu Ruma expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Armed Forces for their support and solidarity.

The delegation later visited the Katsina State Government House, where they were received by Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe on behalf of Governor Dikko Umar Radda. Abdullahi conveyed the Armed Forces’ condolences to the state government and people of Katsina over what he described as the loss of a distinguished son of the state.

In his remarks, the deputy governor said the death of Major General Abubakar was a painful loss to both Katsina State and Nigeria, noting that his commitment to national service and security would remain an enduring legacy for future generations.
