El-Rufai Granted N100 Million Bail in Abuja

ABUJA, Nigeria: The Federal High Court in Abuja granted bail to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 10:44 a.m. WAT.

Okay News reports that Justice Joyce Abdulmalik set the bail amount at 100 million Naira (approximately 66,667 USD), requiring one surety of a matching sum.

The court directed that the surety must reside in either the Maitama or Asokoro districts of the capital city. The individual is required to deposit the original Certificate of Occupancy for a landed property at the court registry.

The surety must be a federal civil servant operating at or above Grade Level 17. The court mandated that this individual provide evidence of salary payments for a minimum of three months.

All submitted documents must be authenticated by a letter from the bank manager of the surety within the jurisdiction of the court.
