FIFA Rejects Ghana’s Request to Re-Play World Cup Qualifier Against Uganda

Fifa have rejected Ghana’s request to have their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda replayed.

South African referee Daniel Bennett had ruled off a late minute goal by the Black Stars, meaning they lost the group’s ticket to Egypt.

The Ghana FA had laid a complain to the governing body calling for a replay of the game since the goal was wrongly ruled off.

However, Fifa say “no proceedings will be opened around the World Cup qualifier match Uganda vs. Ghana.”

The West Africans believed two goals were disallowed for incorrect offside decisions with replays also suggesting the stoppage-time goal should have counted.
