FIRS Commences Recruitment for Experienced Professionals in Specialised Roles [Apply]

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced the commencement of its recruitment exercise for experienced professionals to fill various specialised positions within the organisation.

The recruitment is part of FIRS’ strategies to strengthen its operations and consolidate its workforce.

The announcement, made on Monday, highlights a range of vacant positions, including:

  • Assistant Manager and Deputy Manager roles in Tax (Investigation), PRS (Research), Public Relations, and ICT (Cybersecurity and AI Management).
  • Assistant Manager and Deputy Manager roles in PRS (Risk Management) and Legal.
  • Senior Manager and Assistant Director roles in Tax (Audit).

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

The FIRS specified key qualifications and requirements for all applicants:

  • Academic Qualifications: Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or HND with at least Second Class Lower Division/Lower Credit.
  • NYSC Completion: Candidates must have completed their NYSC no later than 31st December 2017.
  • Age Limit: Applicants for Assistant Manager and Deputy Manager positions must not exceed 40 years of age, while those applying for Senior Manager and Assistant Director roles must not exceed 45 years, as of 31st December 2024.
  • Skills and Competencies: Candidates must have strong leadership and management skills, team spirit, interpersonal and communication abilities, analytical skills, and a solid understanding of Nigerian tax laws and the business environment.

The agency emphasized the importance of knowledge of Nigeria’s tax regulatory framework and the ability to work effectively in ensuring compliance with tax laws.

Application Process

Interested candidates can apply through the official FIRS Career Portal: careers.firs.gov.ng or via the agency’s verified social media channels. The application portal will open on December 23, 2024, and submissions will close on January 11, 2025.

FIRS advised applicants to carefully review the eligibility criteria before submitting their applications to ensure they meet all specified requirements and understand the qualifications necessary for selection.
