Game Of Thrones Season 7 Set For Summer Return, To Have Seven Episodes

By Gbolahan Adeyemi

As the show winds down, creative changes are being made which might not delight fans.

After a record and ground breaking season 6 that ended with a mind blowing finale, fans would have to wait far longer than ever for the next season, over a year, in fact.

Casey Bloys, HBO’s President of programming, said that the show’s move from summer to winter means the show runners wanted to shoot later in the year, necessitated a change in the shooting schedule, leading to the move back in the show’s season 7 premiere.

“Now that winter has arrived on Game of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the story lines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing,” Bloys said.

With the show usually returning in April, the start date might fall within June or July.

The network has also confirmed that the seventh season, perhaps quite apropos, would have seven episodes.
