Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, NIGERIA — Governor Umo Eno officially received the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), at the Government House in Uyo on Friday.

The high-profile visit provided a platform for the state and federal governments to discuss security architecture and the progress of developmental initiatives within the coastal state.

During the visit, General Musa commended the Akwa Ibom State Government for its sustained focus on peace and infrastructure. Okay News reports that the Minister specifically recognized the impact of the ARISE Agenda, Governor Eno’s blueprint for economic growth and social welfare, as a key driver for the stability currently enjoyed across the state’s 31 local government areas.

Responding to the Minister’s remarks, Governor Umo Eno emphasized that the state’s peaceful status is a direct result of prioritizing the welfare of the people and maintaining a seamless working relationship with federal security agencies. “Akwa Ibom remains peaceful because we have continued to prioritize the welfare of our people while working closely with security agencies,” the Governor stated.
