I Cannot Date Someone That Lives On Lagos Mainland – Moet Abebe

By Damilola A.

Moet Abebe, the renowned media personality, has revealed in an interview with Tolani Baj, a reality TV star, that she cannot date men who reside on the mainland in Lagos.

Abebe cited difficulties such as late-night outings and potential police presence as reasons for her preference.

“I have always said this thing, I cannot necessarily date someone that lives on the mainland,” she expressed.

“I feel like if I call you at 11 pm, you will probably give me some story like it is too late, there are police on the street, I cannot come.”

In 2021, Abebe had previously spoken out against the institution of marriage, referring to it as “fraud.”

She also opened up about enduring an “abusive” relationship with her ex-fiance for approximately two and a half years.

More recently, she addressed the societal pressures driving many women into marriage for the wrong reasons.

“I have just noticed that a lot of people are getting married for the wrong reasons. A lot of people are doing it because of pressure,” she remarked.
