Veteran Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor popularly known as Mama G has revealed how she was forced into marriage at the age of 19.
The actress now turned evangelist known for playing unsavory roles said It wasn’t her decision to get married early.
In her words:” It wasn’t my decision . I was forced into it many years ago. I didn’t see any reason why my parents were forcing me, I was still young. Even at that age I had many suitors, they just wanted me to get married.
Sincerely speaking as a christian, I didn’t enjoy the marriage.”
Patience Ozokwor won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards. Ozokwor was among 100 Nigerians honoured by the government to celebrate the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates in 1914.
