Israel Kills Hamas Armed Wing Chief Mohammed Odeh in Gaza

Jerusalem, Israel – The military of Israel killed Mohammed Odeh, the new commander of the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, in an airstrike in Gaza on Tuesday.

Okay News reports that the military and the Shin Bet domestic security agency released a joint statement confirming the death of Odeh, who was appointed after the May 15 killing of Ezzedine al-Haddad.

Israel Katz, the Defence Minister of Israel, said the “commander of the armed wing of the Hamas terrorist organisation in Gaza was eliminated yesterday and sent to meet his associates in the depths of hell”.

A source from Hamas said the airstrike killed the wife and two children of Odeh, adding that a funeral procession would take place on Wednesday in Gaza City. Odeh is the fourth head of the brigades killed since the war began, though the organisation had not officially announced his appointment before his death.

Katz published a post on X outlining the ongoing military operations. “We committed ourselves to eliminating everyone who led the October 7 massacre, and that is what we will do: they are all marked for death, wherever they may be,” Katz said.

Mahmud Bassal, spokesman for the civil defence agency in Gaza, said strikes in the Rimal neighbourhood killed six people on Tuesday night.

Health ministry officials in the territory said 910 people have been killed since a ceasefire began in October 2025.
