By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Abuja, NIGERIA — The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the results for candidates who participated in the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be available today.

Okay News gathered that the announcement was made by the JAMB Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, on Friday, April 17, 2026. The results specifically pertain to candidates who sat for their examinations on Thursday, April 16, 2026, across various Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide.

According to the Board, the results are scheduled to be uploaded and accessible before midnight today. JAMB has assured the public that an official notification will be released as soon as the portal is live for checking, providing a seamless process for candidates to access their scores. Candidates are advised to monitor the official JAMB portal and verified social media handles for the final confirmation.

The 2026 UTME cycle has seen heightened public scrutiny following reports of student abductions in Benue State, prompting JAMB and security agencies to reinforce safety protocols for candidates traveling to examination centers. Despite these challenges, the Board remains committed to its timeline for result processing and release to ensure a smooth transition into the tertiary admission cycle.
