Jigawa Gov Suspends Commissioner Arrested with Housewife in Uncompleted Building

By Oluwadara Akingbohungbe

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has suspended Commissioner for Special Duties Auwalu Sankara, pending an investigation into allegations made by the Kano State Hisbah.

Sankara was arrested in an uncompleted building with a married woman, Tasleem Baba, who is the mother of two children.

The Kano State Hisbah Board’s Director General, Dr. Abba Sufi, confirmed the arrest, stating it was made possible through intelligence tracking after receiving complaints about Sankara’s relationship with the woman.

The commissioner denied the allegations, calling them false, baseless, and malicious, and claiming they were an attempt to tarnish his image. However, the state government suspended him to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the administration.
