By Farouk Mohammed

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has ordered the payment of June salary to all workers in the state from Wednesday to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar-led Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, had enjoined Muslims across the country to look for the new moon of Shawwal on Thursday, 14 June, 2018.

The Kano state government explained that the early payment of salaries was to enable civil servants and their families to fully enjoy the festivities of the Eid-el-Fitr.

The state government disclosed that all banks have been directed to ensure that workers access their salaries with ease.

The Kano government added that the gesture was also in line with Ganduje’s pledge to improve the welfare of workers in the state.

The state government expressed hope that workers will reciprocate the good gesture by being more dedicated and hardworking in the discharge of their duties.
