Kanu Nwankwo Announces Burial Date Of His Mother

Former Super Eagles captain has confirmed that his mother, late Sussan Nwannediya Kanu Iheme (Udonachi Ora) will be buried on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at her residence, Amannagwu Arochukwu, in Abia State.

She died on 7th September 2016 at the age of 82 years.

According to a program of events, burial ceremony starts on Friday, December 2 when the body is expected to leave Aladinma Hospital Mortuary, Owerri for Arochukwu where service of songs and wake-keep are slated to hold at her residence.

Chairman of the burial committee, Pastor Onyebuchi Abia told newsmen on Thursday that funeral service will be held at Presbyterian Church, Amannagwu Arochukwu before her interment at her residence.

“Adequate security arrangement has been made for the burial ceremony,” Abia said.

“We are aware of the likely presence of top dignitaries, including four governors, senators – deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu, Enyinnaya Abaribe, Hope Uzodinma, as well as top politicians like Alex Oti and Chief Victor Umeh.

“Besides, some ministers of the federal republic, Nigeria Football Federation leadership and African Legends Team from South Africa.

“Cultural dances will be on display amongst other side attractions.

“In view of this, we’ve applied for and received firm assurance from the Inspector General of Police for a water tight security arrangement before, during and after the burial ceremony,” Abia stressed.
