Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has endorsed a new minimum wage of 75,000 naira for civil servants in the state, Okay.ng reports.

This development was confirmed by Murtala Usman, chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress in Kebbi State. According to Usman, the governor selected the highest proposed amount of 75,000 naira, demonstrating his support for workers. The proposed amounts were 72,000, 73,000 and 75,000 naira.

Payment is expected to commence in October, with salaries to be made available to workers within 72 hours.

This move is significant, considering the previous minimum wage was 30,000 naira, implemented in 2020.
