Kolade Johnson’s family awarded N10m compensation

The Lagos State Judicial Panel has awarded the sum of N10 million to the family of late Kolade Johnson.

Okay.ng recalls that Johnson was hit by a stray bullet when police officers during a raid at Onipetesi area in Lagos, while watching an English premiership match between Tottenham and Manchester United on March 31, 2019.

Following the incident, social went agog which led to the police revealing the identities of the officers as as Ogunyemi Olalekan and Godwin Orji.

Olalekan was dismissed from the force after he was found guilty, while Orji was acquitted following an orderly trial.

On Friday, the chairman of the Lagos panel, Doris Okuwobi, issued the compensation to Johnson’s mother at the sitting.
