Lizzy Anjorin Addresses Allegations of Gold Theft in Lagos Market (Video)

By Damilola A.

Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin found herself at the center of controversy on Monday after allegations surfaced that she stole gold from a market in Lagos Island.

In response, Anjorin took to social media to address the accusations and provide her side of the story.

A viral video circulating on social media captured the actress seated in a store, attempting to defend herself against the allegations.

In the video, Anjorin, wearing a facemask, can be seen trying to prevent the person recording from capturing her face and the events unfolding in the store.

According to Anjorin, the incident stemmed from a purported failed transfer of N91,000 that she had paid to an accessory seller in the Idumota area of Lagos.

She claimed that she had made the payment months ago and had returned to the market recently, only to be accused of fraudulent activity.

The actress vehemently denied stealing gold and asserted that she was set up, drawing parallels to a similar incident involving filmmaker Olajide Kareem, also known as Seun Egbegbe.

Addressing the situation, Anjorin accused a fellow actress, whose name she withheld, of being behind the mishap.

She questioned how this individual was aware of the story so quickly, insinuating their involvement in the allegations against her.

Anjorin clarified that the market in question was not a gold market but rather a place where wedding materials and accessories, including inexpensive stones, are sold.

She emphasized her right to conduct business peacefully in the market without facing baseless accusations.
