Mohbad’s Management Debunks Claims of Singer Leaving Behind a Will

By Damilola A.

The management of the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has categorically refuted recent claims made by the artist’s father, Joseph Aloba, suggesting that Mohbad left behind a will before his untimely demise.

Joseph Aloba, in an interview with TVC, expressed shock over the alleged discovery of a will by his late son, asserting that Mohbad, at 26, was unlikely to have contemplated writing such a document.

He also raised concerns about the thumbprints on the purported will, implying that they might have been added after the singer’s death.

However, in a statement shared on Mohbad’s Instagram page, his management clarified the situation, debunking the existence of any will or thumb-printed document.

The statement labeled the claim as “false and misleading,” emphasizing that neither the management nor the singer’s lawyer had communicated the existence of such documents to the family or the public.

The management further highlighted three crucial points:

1. Ongoing Investigation: The police authorities are conducting an investigation into Mohbad’s death, with autopsy results expected to be communicated once samples sent abroad are analyzed. The process may take several months.

2. Absence of a Will or Thumb-Printed Document: The statement categorically denied the existence of any will or thumb-printed document left by Mohbad. It emphasized that if such a document did exist, it would have been duly registered with the Probate Registry.

3. Post No Debit Order on Accounts: All accounts owned and controlled by Mohbad were placed on a Post No Debit order on September 12, 2023. This order, which prevents any financial transactions, remains valid. The accounts will be properly handed over to the family once internal disputes are resolved.
