NANS Commences Official Process for Custom Vehicle Plate Numbers With FRSC

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

ABUJA, Nigeria — The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to officially produce customized vehicle plate numbers for the student body.

The agreement was finalized during a high-level dialogue at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Okay News reports that the engagement was led by the NANS Senate President, Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, alongside senior management executives of the road safety agency. The initiative is designed to establish a standardized, recognized identity framework for the student association’s official mobility logistics while curbing the proliferation of unauthorized vehicle identifiers on national highways.

According to an official statement signed by NANS National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Obidah David, both institutions finalized the necessary guidelines, security clearance requirements, and administrative procedures required to kickstart production. The customized plates aim to enhance proper identification, unity, and road safety awareness among students across various tertiary campuses nationwide. NANS confirmed that specific compliance instructions regarding the allocation of the distinctive plates will be distributed to members across the federation in the coming days.
