NANS Intervenes as Leaked Sex Tape Prompts Suspension of FUOYE SUG President

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

OYE-EKITI, Nigeria — The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has aggressively waded into the brewing crisis at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) following the abrupt suspension of the institution’s Students’ Union Government (SUG) President, Comrade Adio James, whose administration collapsed into a massive social media scandal following the explicit leak of his private sex tape.

The national student leadership intervened on Friday afternoon, June 19, 2026, launching high-level talks with the university management to prevent the complete academic expulsion of the embattled student leader.

Okay News reports that the internet space was saturated with graphic footage involving the SUG President and an unidentified female student, triggering intense moral outrage and immediate disciplinary action from the university’s upper cabinet. While public commentators and digital analysts have heavily berated the student politician for extreme indiscretion and failing to protect the high-profile institutional image of his office from cyber-extortion, NANS President Akinteye Babatunde (Babtee) voiced fierce resentment against what the apex student body labels an “unjust persecution” and a heavy-handed violation of a student’s right to privacy.

Following extensive closed-door deliberations, Babatunde confirmed that the FUOYE Vice-Chancellor has formally ordered an impartial, thorough intelligence investigation to unmask and penalize the individuals responsible for orchestrating the malicious digital leak. The university management has assured student representatives that a progressive, structured resolution will be presented at the upcoming Senate sitting on Wednesday. NANS maintained that while it does not condone reckless behavioral lapses among elected officers, it will strongly resist any form of administrative intimidation or structural victimization directed at Nigerian students over matters originating from their private lives.
