Nathaniel Bassey Denies Accident Report, Says Story Was Twisted

By Farouk Mohammed

Nigerian Gospel Singer Nathaniel Bassey, who was rumoured to have been involved in a ghastly motor accident, has said it was a ”twisted lie”, urging fans to ignore those who publish such reports.

The rumour started when the gospel singer shared a testimony by one of the participants of the 30-day praise challenge on his Instagram page attesting to the work of God.

The testimony was then twisted by some bloggers and news websites that the singer had a ghastly motor accident where the car he was in, crashed on his way from an event in Lekki, Lagos state but survived without a crash.

The alleged event was one of the series of one hour praise section of the #HallalujahChallege that has taken the internet and the world by storm.

Though, the challenge has been largely criticised by some media and online critics, it has enjoyed unprecedented success worldwide.

On his instagram (IG) page on Friday, the singer said that the twisted testimony was a handy work of bloggers who want to drive traffic to their sites.

”Please ignore any fake news about an accident. Bloggers have twisted someone’s testimony just to gain traffic. At least you can now note those with fake news and stay off them,” he posted on his IG.
