Nigerian artist, Laolu Sebanjo, whose works are heavily inspired by his Yoruba Heritage, was recognised and chosen to design Nike’s new kicks. Now, he has been recognised by top magazine FADER which honoured him for his works in Beyonce’s new album, #Lemonade.

Describing his body art, Sebanjo says, “In my language, Yoruba ‘Ori’ literally means your essence, your soul, your destiny. When I work with a muse, the muse, their Ori, and I become one. It’s the deepest, most spiritual experience I’ve ever had with my art as an artist.”

And the body arts in #Lemonade have blown minds, earned the artist more global recognition as many people are trooping to his page to congratulate him for such feat. In #Lemonade, Sebanjo’s work was featured in the track Apathy and Sorry. Sebanjo did not only work on the back-up dancers, Beyonce herself also sported the art under her eyes.
