KATSINA, Nigeria — Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued four kidnap victims during ongoing operations targeting notorious bandit leader Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and members of his criminal network in Katsina State.
Okay News reports that the Katsina State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs announced the rescue on Tuesday, identifying the victims as Musa Yakuba, 62; Alhaji Sa’adu Dayi, 68; Mukhtar Danja, 36; and Salisu Danja, 50. The victims were recovered from areas where security forces believe the bandit group has been operating.
According to the ministry, the rescued individuals received immediate medical attention for gunshot wounds allegedly sustained during their captivity. Authorities noted that the victims had previously appeared in a photograph alongside Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, the wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, who was recently rescued in a separate operation.
The state government praised the Nigerian Army and other security agencies involved in the mission, describing their actions as evidence of continued progress in efforts to combat banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.
Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, said security personnel remain in pursuit of Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and other members of his gang, stressing that operations would continue until those responsible for attacks against civilians are apprehended.
The Katsina State Government reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with security agencies to protect lives and property, while maintaining pressure on criminal groups operating within the state.
