Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo insists that Nigerians deserve a better life.

According to The Nation, Obasanjo made the comment today, January 5, while speaking at the meeting with Southwest women leaders who visited him in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

OBJ urged Nigerians to allow sound judgement to prevail during the electoral process.

The ex President said that the nation bleeds under the yoke of poverty and insecurity.

The politician, who is the card holder of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), added that those leaders who don’t make people’s life better would “give account to God”.

“Nigeria does not deserve the situation it found itself. Our nation bleeds in poverty, economic downturn, sheer impunity and insecurity.”

It would be recalled that on Saturday Obasanjo said that the nation had wasted all the chances to greatness given to it by God. And again, he called on Nigerians to do the “needful” at February polls.
