Ogun Elevates Graduate Teachers To Level 17

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the promotion of graduate primary school teachers in the Tutor Cadre to Grade Level 17. The upgrade moves qualified educators from their previous peak at Grade Level 16.

“This was contained in a statement signed by the State Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya,” the government noted.

“The Head of Service explained that the decision aims to address stagnation at the peak of the cadre and enhance motivation, ensuring improved service delivery in the primary education system,” it added.

The promotion applies to experienced graduate teachers. It recognizes their qualifications and years of service.

The State Universal Basic Education Board received directives for immediate implementation. Expected outcomes include better learning results across schools.

Governor Abiodun also endorsed a consolidated salary structure for Head-Teacher General positions. This aligns with the revised progression framework.
