UMUAHIA — Abia State Governor 0 has inspected ongoing construction work on a new Governor’s Office and Official Residence within the Government House complex in Umuahia, expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of the project.
During the visit, Otti met with engineers from 1, the contractor handling the development, to assess progress and ensure that construction aligns with approved specifications and standards. The governor said he was encouraged by the work completed so far and urged the contractors to maintain the current momentum.
Okay News reports that the project is expected to be completed before the end of the year and forms part of the state government’s broader plan to modernize and rebuild facilities within the Government House complex. According to Otti, the initiative is aimed at addressing years of infrastructure neglect and creating a more efficient administrative environment.
The governor highlighted several projects already completed within the Government House, including the renovation of the Deputy Governor’s Office, the construction of a new Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and the remodeling of the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Protocol Building, Political Block Unit and Banquet Hall.
He added that work is continuing on additional facilities, including a modern Government House Clinic, a new entrance gate and other supporting infrastructure. Otti said the administration’s objective is to transform the Government House into a modern, functional and befitting seat of government that reflects the aspirations of the people of Abia State.
