Pastor Chris Reacts to Christ Embassy Fire Incident, Vows to Build Bigger Headquarters

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the founder and president of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, has responded to the fire outbreak that destroyed the main auditorium of the church’s headquarters in Lagos.

Speaking during Sunday service at the church’s campground in Ogun State, Oyakhilome assured the congregation that the church would build a bigger and better headquarters.

The fire incident, which occurred on Sunday morning, was brought under control by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS). The Director of LSFRS, Mrs. Margret Adeseye, confirmed that the fire impacted the main auditorium and stated that the cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation.

Oyakhilome, in his remarks, said that the church would not be deterred by the incident and would instead build a more glorious headquarters. He referenced a previous incident in 2001 where the building vibrated during an explosion but did not collapse, and he had vowed to build a bigger and better one if it had.

The fire incident caused traffic congestion in the area, and security operatives cordoned off the site as firefighters worked to contain the outbreak. Church workers were seen salvaging properties that were not burnt, and worshippers were redirected to another branch of the church for Sunday service.
