President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, as he marks his 65th birthday, describing him as a “principled reformer and accomplished security professional.”
In a statement issued on Friday in the Nigerian capital by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the president highlighted Ribadu’s unwavering integrity and long-standing dedication to national service. Okay News reports that Tinubu specifically recalled Ribadu’s transformative leadership at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, where he played a crucial role in reinforcing Nigeria’s anti-corruption framework.
The president added, “Since we struck a close relationship over 15 years ago, I have come to acknowledge and appreciate Nuhu’s honesty, forthrightness, and camaraderie. As a prominent member of our Renewed Hope Agenda team, I have found Nuhu to be a patriotic, loyal, and candid individual. As Nuhu turns 65 today, I fervently pray that Almighty Allah will grant him good health and greater wisdom to continue serving our beloved country.”
Born in Yola, Adamawa State, on November 21, 1960, Ribadu was appointed as National Security Adviser on June 19, 2023. He previously served as the pioneer Chairman of the EFCC from 2003 to 2007, overseeing major investigations and prosecutions of corrupt officials and financial criminals.
A decorated law enforcement officer, Ribadu has received numerous accolades, including the Inspector General of Police Awards in 1997, 1998, and 2000, as well as the Special Commendation of the President in 2005 for successfully prosecuting cases involving advance fee fraud, banking fraud, and other economic crimes.
