Mavin reacts to the idea of him doing music with D’banj as well as the allegations that he was signed to replace former Mo’hits singer Wande Coal.

On March 11, 2015 Mavin Records artiste Reekado Banks had an exclusive interview with Pulse.

The Katapot singer was asked about his reaction to collaborating with D’banj, bearing in mind the history he had with Don Jazzy when Mo’hits existed.

Reekado paused to think about an appropriate response and eventually said “If D’banj calls me for a collabo I’ll definitely talk to my manager first. It depends on what my manager says.”

“Definitely i’d love to do a collabo with D’banj, he’s a good artiste. And the fact that he calls me, not me calling him might encourage me to consider .With the structure of the record label, they have to know everything I do. If he wants to do a collabo with me, why not. It’s not that serious. It’s just music.”

How do you feel about the view that you were signed to replace Wande Coal?

“I am aware that people think this. I cant change what people think. I’m just here to make a mark for myself.”

“I listened to Wande Coal at some point in my life, so if there’s anything we have in common I don’t think I will doubt that. I’m not from a rich background, wande coal wasn’t either so I can relate. But thank God now i’m getting some money”.

The former Mo’hits stars, Don Jazzy, D’banj and Wande Coal shocked everyone when they all re-united to perform at Prince Oniru’s birthday celebrations; especially after the beef between Don Jazzy and Wande Coal.
