Rihanna Will Unveil Her Spring FENTY PUMA Collection at Paris Fashion Week

By Gbolahan Adeyemi

Rihanna (Puma)

In terms of recent fashion success stories, few come close to rivaling that of Rihanna’s FENTY tie-up with PUMA. Since taking over as the sportswear brand’s creative director in 2014, not only has the singer took the brand into haute, extroverted fashion territory, but she’s also been responsible for skyrocketing
sales figures, mainly in part to her gold dust sneaker releases.

Last February, Rihanna unveiled her debut, Japanese street culture inspired PUMA FENTY collection at NYFW to much fanfare and was expected to follow suit with the sophomore spring collection this year. Attendees were left disappointed, then, when rumors began to abound that, rather than the Big Apple, RiRi would instead be showcasing the collection in Paris. Today, those rumors are confirmed.

In a press release published by Vogue, Rihanna strongly hinted at a shift from last year’s heavy monochromatic look, saying:
“I approached this season very differently and felt the theme and concept was best suited for one of my favorite cities, Paris.”

As well as a new runway look, the setting of the show is also said to be more intimate and “very different from from a traditional runway show format.”

The show takes place on September 28 at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. GMT +2, and those not lucky enough to attend can watch a live-stream exclusively on TIDAL (you can still tune in even if you aren’t signed up to the service).
