Rio Olympics: Nigerian Wrestlers, Oborududu And Adekuoroye Eliminated

Blessing Oborududu and Odunayo Adekuoroye on Thursday failed to redeem the pride  of the Nigerian Wrestling team at the Olympic games after losing in the round of 16 in their respective events.

Oborodudu fell 3-1 to Mongolia’s first female gold medallist of the World Wrestling Championships Battsetseg Soronzonbold in the 63kg event, while Adekuoroye, 22, lost to Sofia Mattsson of Sweden.

The Akure-born Adekuoroye, who won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Wrestling Championships, was defeated 5-0.

The games were held at Carioca Arena.
